Summary

Equipment and Resources to Borrow

  • You can borrow or hire the following equipment: a side by side bike, a running buggy, cycles and a VeloPlus wheelchair platform bike. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
  • You can borrow these from the Cycle Hub. View more information about booking and collection of equipment.
  • There are charges to borrow the side by side bikes, VeloPlus wheelchair platform bikes, cycles and running buggies.
  • You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: trampers and mobility scooters. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

Route to (Woodland Play Park)

  • The Woodland Play Park is in the Turning Yard, which is through the Laundry Yard.
    Use the pathway which runs alongside the car parks main access road and join the pathway from the drop-off point to reach the Laundry Yard.
    Follow the path to the right hand side of the Laundry Yard, and go through the gate.
    Follow the path ahead to the centre of the Turning Yard, and take the path to the right hand side of the yard, where you will find the entrances to the Woodland Play Park.
  • The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
  • Path surfaces along the route are concrete.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is no accessible shuttle to this area.

Outdoor Spaces

  • Access into the area is via a slight ramp/slope.
  • The slope is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
  • The access points to the area are located at the right hand side of the Turning Yard.
  • There is a gate at the surveyed access point which is permanently held open.
  • The following outdoor facilities are available: a playground with play equipment.
  • The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: wood bark.
  • Footpaths are not available in all of the outdoor space.
  • There is step-free level access around the area.
  • Playground View
    • There is a route around the play equipment which is not firm and even, but is over 150cm wide.
    • The play equipment is in easy reach for seated and standing users, and users of different heights.
    • The following play experiences are available: swinging, rotating, climbing, balancing, crawling, viewing, sensory (visual, audible and or tactile).
