Admissions

- This site has a car park.
- This is an open air car park with a tarmac and compacted gravel surface.
- Parking is free for all users.

- There are more than 10 Blue Badge parking bays.
- The nearest Blue Badge bay is 70m from the Visitor Reception entrance.
- Obstacles from the car park include: a lack of pedestrian walkways to cross the car park and uneven surfaces.
- There are not parent and child parking bays available.
Toilet with Adaptations (Car Park - Accessible - Right Hand Transfer)
- This toilet is located opposite the car park.
- Access into the toilet is via a steep ramp/slope.
- The ramp is over 150cm wide, with a handrail on the right going up.
- There is pictorial and written text signage on or near the door.
- The door is manual, opens inwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 78cm.
- The door has a hook lock.
- Internally the door has a medium colour contrast.
- The dimensions of the cubicle are 180cm x 246cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.
- There is a lateral transfer space to the right of the seat but it is obstructed.
- The lateral transfer space is 111cm from the side of the toilet pan to the wall.
- There is a spatula flush on the transfer side.
- The following grab rails are available: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side, a vertical grab rail on the transfer side and vertical grab rails on both sides of the wash basin.

Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders and fidget toys.

Visitor Reception
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- The door is manual, permanently held open and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the door opening is 141cm.
- There is step-free level access around the area.
- The majority of aisle widths are over 150cm.
- There is room for wheelchair users to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm) throughout the area.
- Some of the flooring is smooth and even.
- Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to carpet.
- There is step-free level access to the counter.
- The height of the counter is 90cm.
- There is a low level section at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- The counter has windows, TVs, glazed screens or mirrors which could adversely affect the ability of someone to lip read.
- The counter has a clearly signed hearing assistance system.

- The female toilet was surveyed.
- There is also a male toilet in the same location.
- The width of the widest cubicle door opening is 75cm.
- There is an ambulant cubicle available with a dropdown rail on the right.
- The wash basin tap type is push.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
- There are hand dryers.
- There is a baby change facility which is not at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- There is a diagonal grab rail on the left of the female ambulant toilet.
The male toilet could not be surveyed as it was out of order at time of survey (October 2023).
