Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders and fidget toys.

- You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: a tramper. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

All items are free to borrow but a donation is welcomed.
Route to (the RAF Defford Museum)
- Exit the Visitor Reception exit, turn right then bear right and the RAF Defford Museum will be directly ahead.
- The route to the area is step-free level.
- Path surfaces along the route are concrete.
- The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
Entrance
- The entrance surveyed is located at the front of the building.
- There is step-free access via ramp at the entrance.
- The steep ramp is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
- The width of the opening is 86cm.
- There is a second manual door which opens away from you.
- The width of the opening is 77cm.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the entrance with a height of less than 1.5cm.
Attraction / Exhibit
- The majority of walkway widths are between 120cm and 180cm.
- There is background noise here.
- Exhibit information includes the following formats: pictorial, information board, television/screen, audio description, audio guides and subtitles.
- Some of the exhibits have clearly signed hearing assistance systems.
- The hearing assistance systems were tested, however they were not working at the time of the survey.
- There is step-free level access around the area.
- There are chairs without armrests available in the area.
- All flooring in the area is smooth and even.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
