Route to (the Ice Cream Parlour and The Stables Restaurant)

  • Exit the Visitor Reception and follow the main path across the bridge.
    Following the accessible route to the Hall, turn left once at the Hall Archway and the Stables Building will be ahead.
    The Ice Cream Parlour and The Stables Restaurant is at the rear of the Stables Building.
  • The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
  • Path surfaces along the route are compact earth, gravel and cobbles.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is no accessible shuttle to this area.

Entrance (Stables Toilet Block)

  • The entrance surveyed is located opposite the Ice Cream Parlour entrance.
  • There is step-free level access at the entrance.
  • There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
  • The width of the opening is 119cm.

Toilet with Adaptations (Stables Toilet Block - Accessible - Left Hand Transfer)

  • This toilet is located in the Stables toilet block.
  • There is step-free level access into the toilet.
  • This toilet is approximately 5m from the toilet block entrance.
  • There is pictorial signage on or near the door.
  • The door is manual, opens outwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the toilet door opening is 100cm.
  • The door has a locking handle.
  • Internally the door has a low colour contrast.
  • The dimensions of the cubicle are 206cm x 163cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.
  • There is a lateral transfer space to the left of the seat but it is obstructed.
  • The lateral transfer space is 140cm from the side of the toilet pan to the wall.
  • There is a lever flush on the transfer side.

  • There is step-free access via slope at the entrance.
  • The slight slope is over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
  • There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
  • The width of the opening is 116cm.
  • There is a second manual door which is permanently open.
  • The width of the opening is 114cm.

Eating and Drinking

  • This is a cafĂ© which serves desserts.
  • There is a counter where food and drink can be ordered.
  • Staff can provide assistance and offer service to tables.
  • Menu types include: written wall menus, picture wall menus and menu boards.
  • Menus are easy to read (large clear font with contrasting colours).
