  • You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: a mobility scooter. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

Route to (Glass House)

  • Turn right out of the visitor reception exit up a slight slope and right again along the tarmac road to the house.
    Take the path to the left towards the rear of the house.
    When you reach the rear of the house turn right.
    Once you have passed the house turn left before the stone archway, and take the far right hand entrance into the Exotic Garden via a green archway.
    Follow the path passed the garden rooms, then turn right into the back entrance to the Walled Garden. The Glass House is to your left at the top of the Walled Garden.
  • The route to the area is step-free via a very steep ramp/slope.
  • Path surfaces along the route are tarmac and gravel.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is no accessible shuttle to this area.

Entrance (Right Entrance)

  • The entrance surveyed is located to the right hand side of the Glass House.
  • There is step-free level access at the entrance.
  • There is a single manual door which opens away from you.
  • The width of the opening is 108cm.
  • There is a second manual door which opens away from you.
  • The width of the opening is 109cm.

Entrance (Left Entrance)

  • The entrance surveyed is located to the left hand side of the Glass House.
  • There is step-free level access at the entrance.
  • There is a single manual door which opens away from you.
  • The width of the opening is 109cm.
  • There is a second manual door which opens away from you.
  • The width of the opening is 109cm.

Entrance (Front Entrance)

  • The entrance surveyed is located at the front of the Glass House.
  • There is step-free level access at the entrance.
  • There are double manual doors (with one door locked) which opens away from you.
  • The width of the opening is 111cm.

Attraction / Exhibit
