    About Flatford - National Trust

    Accessibility Overview

Sitting in the Dedham Vale alongside the River Stour, Flatford features a Visitor Reception, tearoom, picnic area, shop, Constable exhibition, historic buildings, and countryside with hike/trail routes.

There is car parking on site, with designated bays for Blue Badge holders.

The site offers toilet facilities with adaptations for disabled people, which can be found next to the Blue Badge bays. A Changing Places Facility is also available and can be found next to the Blue Badge bays.

The tearoom, picnic area, shop, and cottage all have step-free level access into and throughout. The open access countryside offers step-free level access through some areas. Other points of interest are accessed via ramps/slopes or steps.

Some main routes around the property have ramps/slopes and uneven and gravel surfaces, so a manual wheelchair and a mobility scooter can be borrowed from the Visitor Reception. The National Trust recommends booking these items in advance.

Please view our Detailed Access Guides below to find out further details, including measurements and photographs.
