About Hadrian's Wall and Housesteads Fort - National Trust

    Accessibility Overview

Hadrian's Wall and Housesteads Fort sits within Northumberland National Park and features a café, picnic area, play area, and hikes/trails along Hadrian’s Wall and Housesteads Fort.

There is car parking on site, with designated parking bays for Blue Badge holders.

The site offers toilet facilities with adaptations for disabled people, which can be found near the café.

The café and picnic area have step-free level access into and throughout them. Other points of interest are accessed via ramps/slopes or steps.

A number of the main routes around the site are uneven due to natural and gravel surfaces, so a manual wheelchair can be borrowed from the Café. The National Trust recommends booking this in advance.

Please view our Detailed Access Guides below to find out further details, including measurements and photographs.
