    About Hardwick - National Trust

    Accessibility Overview

Hardwick sits amongst the Derbyshire countryside and features a Visitor Reception, shops, multiple eating facilities, a Park Centre, building ruins, Hall, gardens, and parkland with hikes and trails.

There are two car parks at the estate, with designated parking bays for Blue Badge holders at the Visitor Reception car park.

The estate offers toilet facilities with adaptations for disabled people, which can be found in the Stableyard, Great Barn Restaurant and Park Centre.

The Visitor Reception, giftshop, second-hand bookshop, picnic areas, ice cream kiosk, Park Centre kiosk and gardens all have step-free level access into and throughout them. The ground floor areas of the Great Barn Restaurant and Old Hall also offer step-free level access. Other points of interest are accessed via ramps/slopes or steps.

A number of main routes around the property have ramps/slopes and cover some distance, so a shuttle is also available to take visitors to the Old Hall and Hardwick Hall, and manual wheelchairs and trampers can be borrowed from the Visitor Reception. The National Trust recommends booking these in advance.

Please view our Detailed Access Guides below to find out further details, including measurements and photographs.
