Entrance (Kiosk)

  • The entrance surveyed is located at the front of the kiosk.
  • There is step-free level access at the entrance.
  • There is a single manual door which is permanently open.
  • The width of the opening is 80cm.

Eating and Drinking (Kiosk)

  • This is a kiosk which serves snacks and ice cream..
  • There is a counter where food and drink can be ordered.
  • Staff can provide assistance and offer service to tables.
  • Menu types include: written wall menus.
  • Menus are easy to read (large clear font with contrasting colours).
  • The following are available here: drinking straws, takeaway cups, takeaway cutlery and a portable card machine for payment.
  • Lighting levels are moderate to good.
  • There is no (or very little) background noise here.
  • There is not a hearing assistance system.
  • There is a counter under 85cm high without a tray rail.
  • The counter is 70cm high.
  • There is step-free level access around the seating area.

Toilet with Adaptations (Park Centre - Ambulant- Left Hand Transfer)

  • This toilet is located in the park centre, on the left of the kiosk.

  • This toilet is approximately 4m from the kiosk.
  • There is pictorial signage on or near the door.
  • The door is manual, opens outwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the toilet door opening is 90cm.
  • The door has a sliding bolt lock.
  • The dimensions of the cubicle are 166cm x 233cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.
  • There is a lateral transfer space to the left of the seat.
  • The lateral transfer space is 108cm from the side of the toilet pan to the wall.
  • There is a pull chain flush on the left transfer side.
  • The following grab rails are available: a horizontal grab rail on the door, a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side and a vertical rail on the left side of the wash basin.
  • There is no dropdown rail.
  • The following fixtures can be reached from the toilet seat: wash basin, toilet roll holder and soap dispenser.
  • The following fixtures cannot be reached from the toilet seat: towel dispenser.

Picnic Area

  • The following information describes the picnic area located opposite the car park and at the side of the lake.
  • Access into the area is via slight ramps/slopes.
  • The slope is over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
  • There are picnic tables.
  • No chairs have armrests on both sides.
  • Adapted picnic tables are not available.
  • The distance between the floor and the underside of the lowest picnic table is 67cm.
  • The standard height for the underside of picnic tables is 70cm.
  • The following furniture is permanently fixed: all of the chairs and all of the tables.
  • There is step-free level access around some of the area.
  • The surface in the picnic area is not smooth and even.
  • Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to grass and gravel.

Outdoor Spaces

  • Access into the area is via slight ramps/slopes.
  • The slope is over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
  • The access points to the area are located ahead from the car park (open access) and to the left side of the kiosk (a squeeze gate past a barrier 65cm wide).
  • The following outdoor facilities are available: parkland and woodland.
  • The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: grass and compact earth.
  • Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor space.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is step-free level access around some of the area.
  • There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails and steep ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas .
  • There are slopes along the side of the lakes.
  • There are bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
  • The paths have easy open gates which may create obstacles for some users.

Hikes and Trails (Millers Pond)

  • The trail is approximately 1 mile.
  • The route goes round Millers Pond.
  • The hike is not open 24 hours.
  • None of the paths are lit at night.
  • The route includes the following surfaces: grass and compacted gravel.
  • Some of the route contains very uneven surfaces.
  • These are found in the following areas: from the car park to the lake path.
  • There are no alternative routes to avoid these areas.
  • The route is clearly signposted.
  • The route has information boards with large maps.
  • Seating is available on the route.
  • There are no toilet facilities along the route.
