Accessibility Overview
A designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in Dartmoor, Lydford Gorge features Visitor Receptions, tea rooms, picnic areas, second-hand bookshop, and hike/trails through gorge and waterfall landscapes spread across two main areas.
There is car parking in each area, with designated bays for Blue Badge holders.
The sites offer toilet facilities with adaptations for disabled people, which can be found in the waterfall car park, and next to the Devil’s Cauldron Visitor Reception.
The tea rooms and picnic areas at both sites, and second-hand bookshop at the Devil’s Cauldron site, all have step-free level access into and throughout. Other points of interest are accessed via ramps/slopes or steps.
A manual wheelchair and a tramper can be borrowed from the waterfall Visitor Reception, and a manual wheelchair can be borrowed from the Devil’s Cauldron Visitor Reception. The National Trust recommends booking these items in advance.
