Equipment and Resources to Borrow

Route to (the Tea Room)

  • From the visitor reception, proceed to the rear of the house and exit into the rear courtyard.
    Turn right, following the pathway around to the left.
    The tea room is at the end of the pathway on the right.
  • The route to the area includes up to 3 steps without a handrail.
  • Path surfaces along the route are paving stones.
  • The majority of the paths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.

Toilet with Adaptations (Garden Area - Ambulant - Left Hand Transfer)

  • This toilet is located in the toilet block in the garden area.
  • There is step-free level access into the toilet.
  • This toilet is approximately 17m from the accessible entrance for the house.
  • There is Braille, tactile, pictorial and written text signage on or near the door.
  • The door is manual, opens outwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the toilet door opening is 94cm.
  • The door has a lever twist lock.
  • There is a small lip on the threshold of the doorway with a height of less than 1.5cm.
  • The dimensions of the cubicle are 155cm x 205cm and it does not have a 150cm x 150cm turning space.
