About Penrhyn Castle and Garden - National Trust
Accessibility Overview
Located close to the Bangor coastline, Penrhyn Castle and Garden features a Visitor Centre, cafés, picnic areas, shops, castle, Victorian Kitchens, garden, parkland, and play area.
There is car parking on site with designated bays for Blue Badge holders, and an additional designated car park for Blue Badge holders closer to the castle.
The estate offers toilet facilities with adaptations for disabled people, which can be found near to the Visitor Centre, and near to the castle café.
The cafés, Castle Shop, Victorian Kitchens, and castle picnic area, all have step-free level access into and throughout. The castle ground floor also offers a step-free level access route into and throughout, via the exit. The second-hand bookshop offers step-free level access into it and through some areas. Other points of interest are accessed via ramps/slopes or steps.
Some main routes around the property have steep ramps/slopes and gravel surfaces, so a shuttle is available to transport visitors to main areas. Manual wheelchairs and a mobility scooter can be borrowed from the Visitor Centre, and sensory packs are also available. The National Trust recommends booking these items in advance.
