About Portstewart Strand - National Trust

    Accessibility Overview

Stretching along the coastline of County Londonderry, Portstewart Strand features a Visitor Reception, picnic area, beach, and dunes with hike/trail routes.

There is car parking on site, with designated bays for Blue Badge holders.

The site offers toilet facilities with adaptations for disabled people, and a Changing Places Facility, both of which can be accessed via the access road.

The picnic area has step-free level access into and throughout, and the beach access point is step-free and level. Other points of interest are accessed via ramps/slopes or steps.

Some routes around the site have ramps/slopes and uneven natural surfaces, so a Hippocampe Beach Chair and a Self-propelled Explore Chair can be hired in advance online via the Mae Murray Foundation. A mobile hoist is also available to access the beach chair.

Please view our Detailed Access Guides below to find out further details, including measurements and photographs.
