The most accessible entrance has a slight ramp/slope and a gate.
This entrance is on the right along a path before entering the castle courtyard.
There is a member of staff available for help and assistance.

The top level of the terraced garden is step free with a slight slope near the entrance.

You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: fidget toys.
Powered mobility vehicles cannot be borrowed or hired.

With the Blue Badge parking behind you, proceed up the hill towards the castle.
Before reaching the castle, bear right and follow the path until you reach the entrance to the terraced gardens on the right.
The route to the area is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
Path surfaces along the route are tarmac and gravel.
The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
There is no accessible shuttle to this area.

There is step-free level access to the counter.
The height of the counter is 115cm.
There is not a low level counter at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
The counter has windows, TVs, glazed screens or mirrors which could adversely affect the ability of someone to lip read.
There is background noise here which varies, depending on the time of day.
The counter does not have a hearing assistance system.

This information is for the access point located along the footpath to the right as you approach the castle.
There is step-free level access into the area.
There is a gate at the surveyed access point which is permanently held open.
The following outdoor facilities are available: terraced gardens.
The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: grass and bonded gravel.
Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor space.

There are more than 3 steps without handrails, more than 3 steps with handrails and slight ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas .
There is one slope shortly after entering, however the steps are in numerous places throughout the terraced gardens.
There are some bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
The very top level of the terraced gardens is step free, however the majority is accessed via steps.
