Sitting in the County Down countryside in Northern Ireland, Rowallane Garden features a Visitor Reception, café, picnic areas, second-hand bookshop, House, play areas, garden, and grounds with hike/trail routes.
There is car parking on site, with designated bays for Blue Badge holders.
The site offers toilet facilities with adaptations for disabled people, which can be found in the House, and in the Stableyard.
The Stableyard, with picnic area and play areas, and the picnic area located at the rear of the house, all have step-free level access into and throughout. When using the House exit door as an alternative entrance point, step-free level access into and throughout the House, including café and second-hand bookshop, can be gained. However, due to the internal push pad on the House exit door, staff assistance may be required to open the door from inside the House. The Lower Garden offers step-free level access into it and through some areas. Other points of interest are accessed via ramps/slopes or steps.
Some main routes around the property have steep ramps/slopes, so manual wheelchairs and mobility scooters can be borrowed from the Visitor Reception. Sensory packs are also available. The National Trust recommends booking these items in advance. Children’s balance bikes are available to borrow from the Visitor Reception also.
