Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys, binoculars, magnifying glass, accessible maps and sensory maps.

- You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: mobility scooters. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

Route to (the Coach House Café)
- Follow the path at the front of the car park to the left (away from the Visitor Centre)
Cross the service road to the Coach House Café. - The route to the area is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac, paving stones and bonded gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Entrance
- The entrance surveyed is located at the front of the building.
- There is step-free access via slope at the entrance.
- The steep slope is over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There are double automatic doors (with one door locked) which opens towards you.
- The width of the opening is 104cm.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the entrance with a height of less than 1.5cm.
Eating and Drinking
- This is a café which serves hot and cold meals and snacks.
- There is a counter where food and drink can be ordered.
- Staff can provide assistance and offer service to tables.
- Menu types include: written wall menus.
- Menus are easy to read (large clear font with contrasting colours).
- The following are available here: drinking straws, takeaway cups, two handled cups, easy grip cutlery, a portable card machine for payment, large-handled mugs and large-handled cutlery.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
- There is no (or very little) background noise here.
- There is a clearly signed hearing assistance system.
- The hearing assistance system was tested and working at the time of the survey.
- There is a counter over 85cm high with a tray rail.
- The counter is 90cm high.

Ramp or Slope and Steps (To Internal Seating)
- The ramp is slight and between 75cm and 150cm wide.

- The steps are clearly marked with handrails on both sides.
- The ramp overcomes the steps.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
Exit (To Outdoor Seating)
- The exit is located to the left after the food counter.
- There is step-free level access at the exit.
- There is a single automatic door which opens away from you.
- The width of the opening is 88cm.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the exit with a height of less than 1.5cm.
Picnic Area
- The following information describes the picnic area located to the left of the Coach House Café.
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- There are tables.
- Some chairs have armrests on both sides.
- Adapted picnic tables are not available.
- The standard height for the underside of picnic tables is 75cm.
- There is step-free level access around the area.
- All of the surface in the picnic area is smooth and even.
Toilet with Adaptations (Coach House Café - Ambulant - Left Hand Transfer)
- This toilet is located to the left from the café entrance, past the counter, on the right.
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- This toilet is approximately 15m from the café entrance.
- There is written text signage on or near the door.
- The door is manual, opens outwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 83cm.
- The door has a locking handle.
- Internally the door has a low colour contrast.
- The dimensions of the cubicle are 179cm x 160cm and it does not have a 150cm x 150cm turning space.
- There is a lateral transfer space to the left of the seat but it is obstructed.
- The lateral transfer space is 107cm from the side of the toilet pan to the wall.
- There is a spatula flush on the non transfer side.
- The following grab rails are available: a horizontal grab rail on the door, a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side and vertical grab rails on both sides of the wash basin.

- The width of the door opening is 86cm.
- Internally the door has a low colour contrast.
- The male standard toilet was surveyed.
- There is also a female toilet in the same location.
- The width of the widest cubicle door opening is 79cm.
- The wash basin tap type is push.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
- There are hand dryers.
