About Shugborough Estate - National Trust

    Accessibility Overview

Sitting close to Stafford in the Staffordshire countryside, Shugborough Estate features a Visitor Reception, tea room, café, shops, Hall, historic buildings, garden, and parkland with play area.

There is car parking on the estate, with designated bays for Blue Badge holders.

The estate offers toilet facilities with adaptations for disabled people, which can be found next to the bookshop, and next to the plant shop. A Changing Places Facility is also available near to the Park Farm Café.

The Visitor Reception, Plant Centre, Walled Garden, and Park Farm all have step-free level access into and throughout. The Hall offers step-free level access to the ground floor via a stair climber for the external steps. The Servants' Quarters and play area offer step-free level access into them and through some areas. Other points of interest are accessed via ramps/slopes or steps.

Main routes around the property have ramps/slopes and uneven cobbled and gravel surfaces, so an accessible shuttle is available to take visitors to main areas. Manual wheelchairs and trampers can also be borrowed from the Visitor Reception. The National Trust recommends booking these items in advance.
