About Sutton Hoo - National Trust

    Accessibility Overview

Sitting near the town of Woodbridge in Suffolk, Sutton Hoo features a Visitor Reception, café, food kiosk, picnic area, shops, archaeological exhibits, Royal Burial Ground, viewing tower, House, and grounds with hike/trail routes.

There is car parking on site, with designated bays for Blue Badge holders near to the visitor entrance point.

The site offers toilet facilities with adaptations for disabled people, which can be found near to the King’s River Café, at the side of the High Hall exhibit building, and in the House.

The Visitor Reception and main gift shop areas have step-free level access into and throughout. The House offers step-free level access throughout the tour when using the exit point as an entrance point. The picnic area and High Hall exhibit space offer step-free level access into them and through some areas. Other points of interest are accessed via ramps/slopes or steps.

Some main routes around the property have ramps/slopes and uneven natural surfaces, so manual wheelchairs, mountain trikes and trampers can be borrowed from the Visitor Reception. Sensory packs are also available. The National Trust recommends booking these items in advance.
