Equipment and Resources to Borrow

  • You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
  • Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys and soft toy.
  • You can borrow these from the Visitor Reception. View more information about booking and collection of equipment.
  • You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: a tramper. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

Route to (the Parklands)

  • From the Visitor Reception turn left after the last workshop through an open set of gates.
    Go straight ahead through an open entrance to the right of the café, there is then a set of open gates in the far right of Home Farm, just to the side of Tredegar House.
    Going past Tredegar House (on the left) pass through another set of open gates.
    You will now be in the Parklands.
  • The route to the area is step-free level.
  • Path surfaces along the route are tarmac, gravel, cobbles and paving stones.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is no accessible shuttle to this area.

Outdoor Spaces

  • This information is for the access point located to the rear of Tredegar House.
  • There is step-free level access into the area.
  • There is open access at the surveyed access point.
  • The following outdoor facilities are available: a playground with play equipment, parkland and woodland.
  • The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: concrete or tarmac, cobbled, grass and gravel.
  • Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor spaces.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is step-free level access around the area.
  • There are some bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
  • Playground View
    • There is a fenced play area with an entrance over 100cm wide.
    • The gate may be difficult to open but has a high colour contrast with the fence.
    • There is a route around the play equipment which is firm and even, and is at least 150cm wide.
    • The play equipment is not in easy reach for a range of users.
    • The following play experiences are available: swinging and climbing.
