About Yorkshire Dales - National Trust
Accessibility Overview
Spread across a vast and varied landscape, Yorkshire Dales (National Trust) includes three main areas: Malham Tarn, Upper Wharfedale, and Hudswell Woods. Features within these areas include a bird hide, boardwalk, and Cove at Malham Tarn, and hike/trail routes through varied countryside in all three main areas.
A mix of National Trust and non-National Trust car parks are available, with designated bays for Blue Badge holders found in public car parks for Malham Cove, Upper Wharfdale, and Hudswell Woods.
National Trust toilet facilities are not available however, public toilet facilities, including accessible toilets, are present.
There is step-free level access into the Bird Hide and throughout the boardwalk at Malham Tarn, with ramps/slopes leading up to their entrance points. Access to other points of interest throughout the three main areas includes ramps/slopes.
Some main routes have ramps/slopes, steps, and uneven natural surfaces, so a tramper can be borrowed from the Malham Tarn estates office. The National Trust recommends booking this in advance.
Please view our Detailed Access Guides below to find out further details, including measurements and photographs.
