- The station opens;
04:00 - 00:45 Monday to Saturday.
07:00 - 00:45 Sunday. - Opening times for the ticket offices, lounges, retail outlets and other facilities will vary.
Arriving and Leaving

Access By Road
View
- The station is located in the centre of the city, in the valley between Market Street and the Old Town to the south, and Princes Street and the New Town to the north.
There is currently no private vehicle access onto Waverley Bridge. - There is short and long stay parking in the New Street car park.
The car park has inside levels below ground and external parking areas.
The Blue Badge bays are in the external parking area nearest to the station.
There is lift access to Market Street and to the station from the car park.

Dropping Off
View
- There is a designated drop off point.
- The drop-off point is located off Calton Road.
- The vehicle entrance and drop-off point is on Calton Road, reached from the A900 Leith Street or the A1 via Calton Hill to the north.
From the south, Calton Road is reached from New Street and East Market Street.
Vehicles cannot be left unattended in this area.
For short stay parking, use the New Street car park.

Bus Information
View
- There is a bus stop within 150 metres of the train station.
- The bus stops are located on Princes Street.
Multiple bus and coach services, including night buses, stop in this location.
Bus stops on Waverley Bridge are suspended while the bridge is closed to through traffic.
The city also has a tram service that travels part way along Princes Street.

- The taxi rank is located on Princes Street and Market Street.
Pre-booked taxis can also pick up at the Calton Road drop-off point. - The taxi rank is 40m (43yd 2ft) from the Princes Street and Market Street entrances.

Cycle Information

- Cycle racks are located inside the station, off the concourse between platforms 2 and 3, near the entrance from Calton Road.

Getting Help and Assistance

- Assistance is available from the Mobility Assistance Team based in the LNER Reception near platform 4.
The team can also be contacted at the information point on the concourse, at the help-points at the entrances (except for Waverley Bridge), or by any member of staff. - Water bowls for assistance dogs are not available.
- The mobility aids available include wheelchairs.
- To obtain mobility aids please contact the Mobility Assistance reception or a member of staff.
- There is not a designated place of safety which can be used by people with dementia, autism or learning disabilities.

Toilets and Changing Facilities Available

- The following facilities are available here; an accessible toilet, standard toilets, baby changing facilities and shower facilities.
- There is not an assistance dog toilet or toileting area at the venue/nearby.
- At the time of our survey (October 2021) temporary toilets were in operation.
New accessible toilets, standard toilets, standard showers and baby changing were expected to open in November 2021.
A new Changing Places and accessible shower room were expected to open in December 2021.
Mobility Assistance at LNER Reception
- The Mobility Assistance Team are based at the LNER reception, off the main concourse and opposite platform 4.
- The signage at the door says 'LNER Customer Reception'.
- The reception is also used for general enquiries and to access the First Class Lounge.
- There are double doors that open automatically towards you to enter.
- The doors give a clear opening of 140cm.
- The reception desk is directly ahead, about 5m from the entrance.
- The desk has 2 heights; 96cm for standing users, and a lower section at 77cm.
- The lowered section has a knee recess.
- All counters have a glass screen that could make it harder for some people to hear or to lip read.
- There is no hearing loop at the counters.
- There are a range of seats with and without armrests near the reception counter.
- The flooring is tiled and there is ample space to manoeuvre.
- Wheelchairs are available to borrow or customers can be assisted by staff.
- Some wheelchairs have a luggage rack below the seat (photograph 8).
