Access To
- NUSU Central - Courtyard Student Cluster is located to the left of the Newcastle Students' Union in the open air courtyard at the end of the Accessible Route.
- View information on The Newcastle Students' Union (opens new tab) .
- The most accessible route has a steep ramp or slope.
- There is written text signage on or near the entrance.
- There is step-free level access to enter the NUSU Central - Courtyard Student Cluster.
- There are double automatic doors which open away from you.
- The width of the opening is 143cm.
- The doors have a low visual contrast.
- There are a second set of double automatic doors which open away from you.
- The width of the opening is 145cm.
- The second set of doors have a high visual contrast.
- The second automatic double door is to the right. There is a double manual door to the left.
Teaching
- This is a computer room.
- There is step-free level access throughout the room.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- There is not a hearing assistance system.
- The flooring is patterned.
- Floor coverings are even with no trip hazards.

- There are no designated spaces for wheelchair users.
- There is space for an assistance dog to rest.
- Seating available in the room includes: riser recliner chairs, sofas, benches, stools and high stools.
- Furniture available in the room includes: tables, coffee tables, high tables, height adjustable tables and booths.
- Some chairs and tables are fixed.
- Some surface heights are suitable for wheelchair users.
- The clear underside space of some surfaces is suitable for wheelchair users.
