Getting Here

  • By Road View
    • The health centre is located to the east of Sunderland City Centre, off the A1018.
      From the A19 take the A1231 (Wessington Way) towards Sunderland.
      Continue along the A1231 going straight ahead over 3 roundabouts, for approximately 1.5 miles.
      Take the right hand lane and at the traffic lights turn right.
      Continue along the A1231, signposted City Centre, for approximately 0.7 miles.
      Bear left and continue along the A1231 for approximately 690m.
      At the roundabout take the 2nd exit and continue along the A1231. At the next roundabout take the second exit and continue along the A1231 to the next roundabout.
      Take the second exit onto the A1231, and take the left hand lane.
      At the next roundabout take the first exit, signed South Shields and Teeside, on to the A183. Move across to the right hand lane and proceed to the next roundabout.
      Take the second exit on to the A1018, signposted Teeside and Hendon (The Port).
      Continue along the A1018, proceeding straight across the first roundabout.
      At the second roundabout take the first exit on to Borough Road.
      The health centre is located on the right after approximately 70m.

  • By Bus View
    • The nearest bus stop is West Lawrence Street on the A1018, and is served by buses 8, 11, and Black Cats 33.
      From the northbound bus stop use the designated crossing point to cross over the A1018, to access the southbound bus stop.
      Take the footpath ahead of the southbound bus stop. After approximately 84m exit the footpath on to Borough Road.
      Turn left and the health centre is located on the left.
  • By Train View
    • The nearest railway station is Sunderland, which is 0.5 miles from the health centre.
      Exit the station on to Waterloo Street and turn right. Proceed along to the end of Waterloo Street and turn left on to Holmeside.
      At the traffic lights cross onto Borough Road. From Borough Road take the number 8, 11, or Black Cats 33 bus to West Lawrence Street.
      Alternatively, continue to walk along Borough Road for approximately 407m.
      Use the designated crossing points to cross over the A1018 and continue along Borough Road. The health centre is located on the right after approximately 58m.
      Taxis are also available from outside the station.

      Exit the station on to Waterloo Street and turn right. Proceed along to the end of Waterloo Street and turn left onto Holmeside.
