COVID-19 Information

  • The information in this section was taken in August 2020.
  • Due to building work and during the COVID-19 pandemic, there is one entrance/exit at the front of the building, which has double automatic sliding doors.
  • There is not a member of staff available at the entrance.
  • Members of staff are based in the reception foyer area.
  • There is a hand sanitiser available at the entrance.
  • The hand sanitisers are free standing.
  • The height of the hand sanitiser is 90cm.
  • There is not a limited number of people allowed inside.
  • There is not a one-way system throughout.
  • The one-way system is not clearly marked/signed.
  • There is a book collection desk to the right of the foyer entrance and a skip to collect book returns.
  • There are 2 PC’s available for members of the public to reserve for 45 minute slots, which are spaced 2m apart.

  • Comments View
    • Since the initial survey in August 2020 the interior building work has continued and being extended.
    • Customer access is only via the main electronically controlled double doors to drop-off and collect books in the foyer, and 2 PCs are available to be booked by members of the public in the same locale.
    • The main body of the building has no public access presently. This includes, as of March 2021; the lift, First Floor- Wallsend Customer Services, Library (first floor), café, changing places (first floor), and standard toilets (first floor).
