Access Point (Garden Centre)

  • This access point is located at the front of the garden centre, on the right hand side of the Castle Howard estate.

  • There are not any seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
  • The paths have uneven surfaces which may create barriers for some users.

Entrance

  • This entrance is located to the left as you enter the garden centre gates.
  • The approach to the entrance has uneven surfaces.
  • The entrance area is clearly signed.
  • There is not a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at the entrance.
  • There is step-free access via slope at the entrance.
  • The slope has a slight gradient.
  • There are double manual doors at this entrance, however one door is locked.
  • The door is permanently held open.
  • The width of the opening is 93cm.
  • The doors have a high colour contrast.

Getting Around

  • There is step-free level access throughout the majority of areas.
  • The following areas have step-free access via ramps or slopes: the covered open area at the right hand side as you enter, leading to the toilets.
  • Access throughout may include narrow walkways.
