Route Summary
- The route from the Main Reception building to the Sudborough House Children's Services Reception is approximately 235m long.
- The route consists of paths, marked pedestrian walkways and pedestrian crossings.
- The route has several obstacles including a car park, pedestrian crossings, dropped kerbs with and without tactile paving, slight and steep slopes and uneven surfaces.
Main Reception to Building 19
- Exit the Main Reception Building and proceed across the pedestrian crossing. This crossing has a dropped kerb with tactile paving on one side.
- Once across, proceed along the path to the left.
- Continue across the next pedestrian crossing. This crossing has a dropped kerb with tactile paving on one side.
- Once across, turn left and continue along the pedestrian walkway, taking care as this pedestrian walkway is in front of entrance to the building 19 parking.
Building 19 to Building 3
- Once past the Building 19 parking, you will come to another pedestrian crossing. This crossing does not have a dropped kerb or tactile paving on either side.
- Continue across the crossing and turn right onto the next pedestrian walkway.
- Follow this pedestrian walkway around Building 5. This pedestrian walkway is on a steep slope towards the road.
- You will then come to a path. Carry on along this path until you come to the next pedestrian crossing on the right.
- Proceed across this pedestrian crossing. This pedestrian crossing has dropped kerbs with no tactile paving on both sides.
Building 3 to the Sudborough House Children's Services Reception
- Once across, continue along the pedestrian walkway straight ahead. This walkway is on a steep slope towards the road. It also has bollards on the left that are 158cm wide.
- At the end of this walkway there is a dropped kerb with no tactile paving.
- Take the pedestrian crossing that is on the left. This crossing has dropped kerbs with tactile paving on both sides.
- Follow the path to the right and continue as it bends round. This path is on a steep slope and has a dropped kerb with tactile paving at the end.
- Proceed ahead across the entrance to the staff parking area. There is another dropped kerb with tactile paving on the other side.
- Carry on along the path which is slightly sloped and at the end, turn left.
- Proceed down the steeply sloped path and the entrance to the Sudborough House Children's Services is located on the right.
- The entrance to the Sudborough House Children's Services has a very easy slope in front and the door opens automatically towards you.
- As you enter the Sudborough House Children's Services the reception is located to the left.
Entrance (Sudborough House Children's Services Entrance)
- This entrance is located at the front of the Sudborough House Children's Services building.
- The approach to the entrance has uneven surfaces.
- The entrance area is clearly signed.
- There is a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at the entrance.
- There is step-free access via a very easy slope at the entrance.
- The height of the hand sanitiser is 115cm.
- There is a single automatic door at this entrance.
- The door opens towards you.
- The width of the opening is 103cm.
