When using the M1 from the north, exit at Junction 26 and take the A610 Nuthall Road / Alfreton Road into the city.
When using the M1 from the south, use Junction 24 and follow the A453 into the city centre. - University car parks on the City Campus are not open to visitors, but there are a number of public car parks nearby.

The Park and Ride tram service with sites around Nottingham is particularly convenient and popular with visitors.

- The nearest tram stop is Nottingham Trent University.
- The Nottingham Express Transit (NET) tram stops on Goldsmith Street outside the Chaucer building and the Boots Library, providing a link to Nottingham railway station and the Broadmarsh Bus Station redevelopment. There are several park and ride stops along the route with parking when visiting the University. The Phoenix Park's park and ride site is close to Junction 26 of the M1, and the Forest Park's park and ride site is near to the city centre. The trams network is fully accessible with fully accessible tram stop platforms, low floor access to trams, high colour contrast floor finishes, electronic signs and audible announcements, dedicated wheelchair spaces and Blue Badge parking at the park and ride sites on the tram network.
