  • Services / facilities within the grounds include This guide is based in Oadby This guide covers the main shopping area of Oadby and covers some independent shops and mainstream shops along the Parade. This guide runs from the A6 Harborough Road to the North and ends at Church Street/Wigston Road to the south. The route is roughly around 0.4 miles (640metres) and would take roughly 10-12 minutes to walk on average but this is just a guide. The route has some slight and steep slopes along the route. Pathway surfaces are concrete paving slabs and block paving. The pathways have some uneven sections, which include some raised manhole covers.   • The A6 Harborough Road is at the north end of the streetscape where the Parade meets A6 Harborough Road.
  • The A6 Harborough Road has direct links to the ring road for Leicester and A47.

  • There is limited street Blue Badge parking and standard parking available on the Parade and side roads throughout the route.
  • Several public car parks are also available throughout the route.
  • By Bus:
  • There are several bus stops along most of the route such as the Parade with direct services available to Leicester, Crown Hills, Oadby and Glenfield.

  • Leicester Railway Station is approximately 2.9 miles away and located Station Street.

  • There are limited Blue Badge and standard on street parking bays on surrounding side roads such as the Parade and other side roads.
  • There is no charge for these parking bays.
  • Parking is limited to 30 minutes for non-Blue Badge holders on all streets on route.
  • Blue Badge holders may park in any of the bays for a maximum of 3 hours.

Junction – A6 Harborough Road, Leicester Road, Regent Street and the Parade

  • There are several pedestrian crossings at this junction to cross the Parade, A6 Harborough Road and Regent Street.
  • The crossings have push button controls and visual indicators.
  • The buttons are 104cm high.
  • There is no audio alert, however, there are rotating cones under each button unit indicating when it is safe to cross.
  • At the pedestrian crossings there is tactile paving between the control posts to locate the crossing.

South Street to Chestnut Avenue via the Parade

  • As you exit South Street along the Parade towards Chestnut Avenue the route is level.
