About University of Central Lancashire

The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is delighted to be working with AccessAble to ensure that all our prospective and current students, staff and visitors have clear information on the accessibility of our buildings.

We are one of the largest universities in the UK with a student and staff community of approximately 35,000 people; over 500 undergraduate courses and 200 taught postgraduate programmes. We are located in the heart of Lancashire, in Preston, a small city with a friendly feel, with further campuses at Burnley in East Lancashire and Westlakes in West Cumbria.

The University is in the process of spending over £200 million on a Campus Masterplan to improve our existing campus and make it fresh, open and full of state-of-the-art buildings and facilities. A brand new student support centre is central to our new campus gateway which will house everything needed to make the student journey a bit easier. There’ll be a new public square in the centre of campus which will also be a space to host events and festivals, whilst doubling as an exhibition space alongside new teaching buildings like the fantastic Engineering Innovation Centre (EIC) due to be completed in 2018.

We have a diverse student and staff community and are strongly committed to enabling equality of educational opportunity and being an outstanding employer. We strive to remove any barriers for those with disabilities as far as possible, to ensure that we provide an inclusive environment and address any areas of under-representation or barriers to access, retention, satisfaction or success.

We hope you find this information and our guides useful. You can find out more and access our policies at Student Support. We would also be delighted to hear from you directly if you require any further information. Please contact us via email, or on 01772 201201.
