Getting In and Around

- There is step-free access via ramp at the most accessible entrance.
- The main hospital entrance is step-free via steep ramp.
The Oxford Road Outpatients entrance is step-free via slight ramp. - There is step-free level access throughout the majority of areas.
- The following areas have step-free access via ramps or slopes: a slight ramp along the main hospital corridor leading to the rear main corridor next to the League of Friends shop, a steep ramp within the entrance threshold of the League of Friends Shop, a slight ramp along the rear main corridor and a slight ramp leading to the Oxford Road entrances from the rear main corridor.
- Access throughout may include manual doors and doors permanently held open.
- The basement, ground and first floors can be accessed via a standard lift and stairs.
- There are three lifts and sets of stairs available throughout the main hospital building, however these are to directly access Laburnum Ward, Juniper Ward and the Children's Ward.

Getting Help and Assistance

- There is seating available.
- There is no hearing assistance system.
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: a manual wheelchair.
- There is a designated safe space which can be used by people with dementia, autism or learning disabilities.
- The designated safe space is located within the Chapel/Quiet Room.
- British Sign Language interpreters can be provided on request.
- Documents are available in the following formats: Braille (on request), large print (on request) and different languages (on request).
- There is a water bowl available for assistance dogs.
- There is not a designated assistance dog spending area.
- Additional facilities/services include: an ATM machine, a pay phone, Wi-Fi and TV pre-pay machines for patients.
- Staff receive the following training: Online Training.

- The following areas have step-free access via ramps or slopes: a slight ramp along the main hospital corridor leading to the rear main corridor next to the League of Friends shop, a steep ramp within the entrance threshold of the League of Friends Shop, a slight ramp along the rear main corridor and a slight ramp leading to the Oxford Road entrances from the rear main corridor.

- Some flooring is shiny and patterned.
- There is a high visual contrast between the walls and floor in all walkways.
- There is no (or very little) background noise.
- Wayfinding signage is provided.
- Signage is clearly visible with high contrasting colours.
- The colour, design and typeface of signs is consistent throughout.
- Seating available in the walkways includes: chairs with armrests and chairs without armrests.
- Lighting levels vary due to the size of the space.
