    • The main hospital entrance is step-free via steep ramp.
      The Oxford Road Outpatients entrance is step-free via slight ramp.
    • There is step-free level access throughout the majority of areas.
    • The following areas have step-free access via ramps or slopes: a slight ramp along the main hospital corridor leading to the rear main corridor next to the League of Friends shop, a steep ramp within the entrance threshold of the League of Friends Shop, a slight ramp along the rear main corridor and a slight ramp leading to the Oxford Road entrances from the rear main corridor.
    • Access throughout may include manual doors and doors permanently held open.
    • The basement, ground and first floors can be accessed via a standard lift and stairs.
    • There are three lifts and sets of stairs available throughout the main hospital building, however these are to directly access Laburnum Ward, Juniper Ward and the Children's Ward.
  • Getting Help and Assistance View
    • There is seating available.
    • There is no hearing assistance system.
    • You can borrow or hire the following equipment: a manual wheelchair.
    • There is a designated safe space which can be used by people with dementia, autism or learning disabilities.
    • The designated safe space is located within the Chapel/Quiet Room.
    • British Sign Language interpreters can be provided on request.
    • Documents are available in the following formats: Braille (on request), large print (on request) and different languages (on request).
    • There is a water bowl available for assistance dogs.
    • There is not a designated assistance dog spending area.
    • Additional facilities/services include: an ATM machine, a pay phone, Wi-Fi and TV pre-pay machines for patients.
    • Staff receive the following training: Online Training.

  • Some flooring is shiny and patterned.
  • There is a high visual contrast between the walls and floor in all walkways.
  • There is no (or very little) background noise.
  • Wayfinding signage is provided.
  • Signage is clearly visible with high contrasting colours.
  • The colour, design and typeface of signs is consistent throughout.
  • Seating available in the walkways includes: chairs with armrests and chairs without armrests.
  • Lighting levels vary due to the size of the space.
