About this venue

Originally opened in 1971, the Crucible reopened after a £15.3 million redevelopment in February 2010. The Crucible is the main stage for their in-house produced work as well as hosting the annual World Snooker Championships. The performance area is a thrust stage which extends into the auditorium, enabling the audience to watch action on three sides. No member of the audience is ever further than 22 metres from the stage. Sheffield Theatres Box Office is located here. In the lower foyer is an archive area featuring items from previous shows.
