Parking (Stanmore Country Par Car Park)

Access Point (Stanmore Country Park Car Park)

  • This access point is located at the rear of the car park.
  • The access point is not clearly signed.
  • There is step-free access via a very easy slope.
  • There is a kissing gate at this access point.
  • The gate opens both ways.
  • The width of the opening is 100cm.
  • The gate has a low visual contrast.
  • The gate has a latch lock.
  • A padlock is located on the kissing gate that is operated via RADAR key and allows the gate to swing fully open in either direction.

Stanmore Country Park South

  • There are two Easy Access walks located to the north and south of Estate Road.
  • This walk is approximately 450 metres long.
  • The route runs from the car park access point to the RAF memorial.
  • The route is linear and requires the user to come back the same way, as there is no accessible path around the entirety of the park.
  • Information points with map boards are located around the park which give the user an indicator of their position.
  • Access for mobility scooters and wheelchairs is via kissing gates that require a RADAR key to open. These are readily available online.
  • However, please note these kissing gates are not big enough to accept the latest large mobility scooters.
  • The surface of the pathways here is tarmac with fine loose chippings on top, other trails have surfaces of grass and compacted earth.
  • The path has slight slopes and is 250cm wide with a minimum width of 90cm.
  • Bench seating is located at regular intervals on the walk.
  • Other trails around the park have narrow pathways and can be very uneven.

Access Point (Estate Road)

  • This access point is located off Estate Road.
  • The approach to the access point has bollards.
  • The access point is clearly signed.
  • There is step-free level access.
  • There is a kissing gate at this access point.
  • The gate opens both ways.
  • The width of the opening is 100cm.
  • The gate has a low visual contrast.
  • The gate has a latch lock.
  • A padlock is located on the gate that is operated via RADAR key which allows the gate to swing fully open in either direction.

Stanmore Country Park North

  • There are two Easy Access walks located to the north and south of Estate Road.
  • This walk is approximately 1km long.
  • The route is circular, but the primary, wide tarmac path runs in a straight line from end to end of the site and could be easier for some users.
  • Information points with map boards are located around the park that give the user an indicator of their position.
  • Access for mobility scooters and wheelchairs is via kissing gates that require a RADAR key to open. These are readily available online.
  • However, please note these kissing gates are not big enough to accept the latest large mobility scooters.
  • The surface of the main pathway through the site is tarmac and uneven in places. Other trails have surfaces of grass and compacted earth and can be very uneven.
  • The path has slight long slopes and is 250cm wide with a minimum width of 90cm.
  • Bench seating is located at intervals on the walk.
