Getting In and Around

- There is step-free access via slope at the most accessible entrance.
- The following areas have step-free access via ramps or slopes: the Mammoth trail area (slight gradients).
- The following areas have stepped access: access to the Mammoth Tower viewpoint and before the towpath in the Green Trail.
- Access throughout may include uneven surfaces and narrow walkways.
- There are no toilet facilities.

Car Park
View
- The car park is located to the south of the reserve on an access road leading from Moss Lane.
- The car park is open air/surface.
- The car park surface consists of loose chippings.
- There are 3 designated Blue Badge parking bays available.

Access Point (Mammoth Tower Trail)
- This access point is located at the front of the car park.
- The approach to the access point has uneven surfaces.
- The access point is clearly signed.
- There is step-free access via slope.
- The slope has a steep gradient with resting areas.
- There is an open gap.
- The width of the opening is 100cm.
- There is step-free level access as you enter.
Generic (Mammoth Tower Trail)
- The Mammoth Tower Trail is approximately 2.25km long. The route is linear and requires the user to come back the same way. The trail has directional signage on posts along the route. The width of the pathways varies, but they are generally 90cm wide with narrow points at a minimum of 52cm; there are slight slopes in places. The surface of the pathway is crushed compacted stone, some with fine loose chippings on top. Bench seating is located at intervals on the towpath. Access to the Mammoth Tower is via an opening 120cm wide. The pathway surface is a recycled plastic decking that is uneven in places. There are 20+ steps to the Mammoth Tower viewpoint. There is a periscope facility to allow people to see the same view from the top of the tower. The periscope is at a height of 116cm. Information boards are located at low heights. There is a level crushed compacted stone path with loose chippings on top to access and view a pond area within the bog. Bench seating is available. .
Access Point (Green Trail)
- This access point is located to the left as you leave the car park and along the track.
- The approach to the access point has uneven surfaces.
- The access point is clearly signed.
- There is step-free level access.
- There is an open gap.
- The width of the opening is 66cm.
Green Trail
- The Green Trail is approximately 2.4km long.
- The route is marked on the map as circular.
- There are 8 steps located before the towpath. Step-free use of the trail requires the user to come back the same way.
- The trail has coloured directional signage on posts along the route.
- The width of the pathways varies, but they are generally wide with slight slopes in places.
- The surface of the pathway is grass and compacted earth with some sandy areas.
- The pathway is very uneven in places.
