Access Guide
Station Exit and Voltaire Road
- The station has a stepped exit.
- There are 15+ medium steps leading out from the platforms.
- The steps are clearly marked and have handrails on both sides.
- There is a strip of tactile paving at the top of the last step in the exit.
- There are no doors.
- Exit the station and turn left into Voltaire Road.
- There is an easy slope downhill on the block paving pavement.
- The pavement then has an easy cross slope from right to left and there is a central drainage gutter.
- At approximately 100 metres reach the end of Voltaire Road.
Clapham High Street
- Turn left under the railway bridge into Clapham High Street.
- There is an easy cross slope on the pavement from left to right.
- At approximately 150 metres cross Gauden Road.
- There are dropped kerbs with tactile paving at both sides of the road.
- Continue along Clapham High Street.
- At approximately 190metres cross Cranmer Court.
- There are dropped kerbs on both sides but no tactile paving.
- Continue along Clapham High Street to traffic lights on the right hand side at approximately 230 metres.
- The block paving on the section leading up to the traffic lights is slightly uneven in places.
- There is a strip of tactile paving when you reach the lights.
Clapham High Street To Clapham North Station
- Turn right at the traffic lights and cross Clapham High Street towards Clapham North Station.
- The push button at the lights is at a convenient height for wheelchair users.
- There are dropped kerbs and tactile paving at both sides of the crossing.
Clapham North Station To Landor Road
- Turn left outside the entrance to Clapham North Station and cross Bedford Road at the traffic lights.
- The push button is at a convenient height for wheelchair users.
- There are dropped kerbs and tactile paving at both sides of the crossing.
- There is a moderate slope up the dropped kerb at the far side of the crossing.
- At the far side of the crossing turn left and then immediately right into Landor Road, going over the strips of tactile paving.
Landor Road 1
- Go straight ahead along the Landor Road pavement.
- The block paving surface is uneven in places.
- At approximately 340 metres cross Fenwick Place.
- There are dropped kerbs at either side but no tactile paving.
- Continue along Landor Road.
- At approximately 380 metres cross the access road between Fenwick Place and Holcombe House.
- There is no discernible break in the pavement so take care for traffic in both directions.
- Continue along Landor Road, the surface of the pavement is block paving on the left and tarmac on the right.
- At approximately 490 metres cross Willington Road.
- There are dropped kerbs on both sides of the road but no tactile paving.
Landor Road 2
- Continue along Landor Road.
- The block paving surface on the pavement is uneven in places.
- At approximately 540 metres cross Tasman Road.
- There are dropped kerbs on both sides of the road but no tactile paving.
- Continue along Landor Road.
- There are some slightly uneven sections on the blocking paving surface.
- At approximately 590 metres cross Hubert Grove.
- There are dropped kerbs on both sides of the road but no tactile paving.
- At approximately 640 metres cross the access road to Ward In The Community.
- There are dropped kerbs on both sides of the access road but no tactile paving.
- Continue past the Landor Road Bus Stop.
Landor Road To Gateway Lodge
- At approximately 740 metres reach Lambeth Hospital and turn right into the pedestrain entrance.
- The gate at the entrance is permanently held open and the opening width is 240cm.
- There is level access into the hospital grounds.
- Continue straight ahead and cross a strip of tactile paving approximately 15 metres into the hospital grounds.
- Turn to the left down to the dropped kerb between the bollards.
- Cross the hospital access road diagonally to the left towards the bollard on the dropped kerb at the far side.
- Take care of traffic in both directions.
- At the far side bear diagonally left on the block paving surface.
- You have arrived at the Gateway Out of Hours Reception.
