Introduction - Boarding (the Jubilee Line)

  • Access Routes Summary View
    • This access guide describes the shortest step free route to the Jubilee line platforms (route 1).
      Route 1 uses a lift to bypass escalators and steps and is approximately 70 metres long.
      This access guide also describes the shortest route to the Jubilee line platforms from Waterloo East station (route 2).
      Route 2 uses escalators and steps and is approximately 100m long (not including escalators and steps).

    • This is via the access point located on Blackfriars Road.
    • The shortest distance via steps/escalators to the Jubilee line (eastbound and westbound) is 100m.
    • This is via the access point located in the Waterloo East ticket hall.

Lift (Route 1 - Enter the Underground Station via the Blackfriars Road Lift)

  • There is a lift for public use.
  • The lift is located to the right of the Blackfriars Road access point on street level.
  • The lift is clearly visible from the entrance.
  • The lift is a standard lift.
  • A member of staff does not need to be notified for use of the lift.

  • Step 1 - Go through the Waterloo East ticket barriers and continue ahead down the first set of escalators onto the intermediate concourse.
  • There are also steps leading down to the intermediate concourse.
  • Step 2 - Continue ahead along the concourse for approximately 50 metres towards the second set of escalators.
  • Step 3 - Take the second set of escalators down to the Jubilee line concourse.
  • Step 4 - Turn left and take the steps down to the Jubilee line platforms.
  • Step 5 - Platform 1 (Jubilee line westbound) is on the left and platform 2 (Jubilee line eastbound) is on the right.
