Introduction

On exiting the reception, cross the car park entrance road and continue towards Waldegrave Road

  • The road surface at the crossing is level.
  • There is no dropped kerb at the end of the crossing and therefore no level access onto the path (as shown in photograph 2).
  • For step free access to the path, turn right and follow the road towards Waldegrave Road and enter via the dropped kerb on the left.
  • The road has a continuous easy slope up to Waldegrave Road and has uneven surfaces at points.

Turn left onto Waldegrave Road, After 20m past bus stop SN

  • The path is uneven and narrow at points (120cm at narrowest section) due to parked cars mounted on the pavement.
  • The bus serves route 33.
  • The bus stop is sheltered with seating.

After 180m, cross over the sports facilities entrance road

  • The crossing has no tactile paving on either side.
  • The path is level with the road at the crossing on both sides.
  • The crossing surface is very uneven with a slight gradient towards to road.
  • After crossing, continue along Waldegrave Road.
  • The path narrows to 150cm due to parked cars mounted on the pavement.

After 70m, continue past bus stop SP

  • The bus serves the same route as bus stop SN (33).

After 20m, continue past the vehicle driveway

  • The vehicle driveway (as shown in photograph 1) causes the path to have a slight gradient towards the road.
  • Be wary when crossing.
  • There is a similar vehicle driveway 20m further along the road, as well as a third 5m beyond that.

After 50m, continue past the road crossing over Waldegrave Road

  • The crossing causes a slight gradient towards the road.
  • The crossing consists of block paving and is uneven.

After 20m, turn left down Waldegrave Park

  • The path at the turn has a slight gradient towards the road.
  • The gap between the tree and the wall (as shown in photograph 2) is 150cm wide.
  • After turning, continue along Waldegrave Park.
  • The path has a continuous downhill slope and is very uneven along this section of the route.
  • There are a number of vehicle driveways so be wary of cars attempting to access them when crossing.

After 250m, cross the vehicle access road opposite Newland House School

  • The crossing has no tactile paving on either side.
  • The crossing has dropped kerbs on both sides with a steep gradient between the path and the road.
  • After crossing continue along Waldegrave Park.
  • The path becomes very uneven in places with raised areas due to tree roots lifting the pavement.
  • There are also a number of vehicle driveways causing the path to have a slight gradient towards the road.
  • Be wary of cars attempting to access the driveways when crossing.

After 230m, cross over Hawkesley Close

  • There is no tactile paving on either side of the crossing.
  • There are dropped kerbs on both sides of the crossing with moderate slopes between the path and the road.
  • The road surface is uneven over the crossing.
  • After crossing continue along Waldegrave Park.
  • The path at this section of the route is mostly even.
  • There are some vehicle driveways so be wary of cars attempting to access them when crossing.

After 65m, turn right and cross over Waldegrave Park onto Strawberry Vale

  • There is no tactile paving on either side of the crossing.
  • There are dropped kerbs and an easy slope between the path and the road on both sides.
  • When crossing be wary of traffic from both the left and right using the junction.
  • After crossing, continue ahead along Strawberry Vale.
  • The path has a continuous easy slope, is uneven and becomes narrow in places (as shown in photograph 5), and arcs from right to left.

After 60m, cross over Teddington Park Road

  • The road becomes Twickenham Road at this point.
  • There is no tactile paving on either side of the crossing.
  • There are dropped kerbs on both sides of the crossing with a moderate slope between the path and the road.
  • When crossing be wary of traffic from both the left and right using the junction.
  • After crossing continue along Twickenham Road.
  • There is a vehicle driveway with an easy slope between the path and the road on both sides 15m after the crossing.

After 30m, continue past bus stop SU

  • The bus serves route R68.
  • The bus stop is sheltered with seating.
  • Continue along Twikenham Road.
  • The path at this section of the route is mostly even but becomes narrow at points (as shown in photographs 3 and 4).

After 30m, cross over Grove Gardens

  • There is no tactile paving on either side of the cossing.
  • There are dropped kerbs on both side of the crossing with a moderate slope between the path and the road.
  • When crossing be wary of traffic from both the left and right using the junction.
  • After crossing continue along Twickenham Road.
  • The path at this section of the route is uneven and narrow in places (as shown in photogaphs 2-8).

After 200m, continue past bus stop N

  • Ths bus serves route 68.
  • This bus stop is not sheltered and there is no seating available.
  • Continue along Twickenham Road.

After 20m, cross the vehicle driveway at Blakeney House

  • The driveway has no tactile paving on either side.
  • There are dopped kerbs with an easy slope between the path and the diveway.
  • The driveway has an uneven surface.
  • There is a similar diveway a further 10m ahead.
  • After crossing, continue along Twickenham Road.

Continue along Twickenham Road for appoximately 70m, bare left as the road forks and becomes Manor Road

  • The path begins to arc from right to left approximately 30m after the second driveway.
  • As the road forks, bare left and continue along Manor Road.
  • At this point Fairmile House should be to your left on the opposite side of the road.
  • Following this the path begins to arc back round from left to right.
  • There is a continuous easy down hill slope along Manor Road at this section of the route.
  • There are a number of vehicle driveways along this section of the route which cause a slight gradient towards the road at points.
  • Be wary when crossing the diveways.

After a further 240m, turn left and cross over Manor Road

  • There is tactile paving on both sides of the crossing.
  • There are dropped kerbs on both sides of the crossing with an easy slope between the path and the road.
  • There is a tactile rotating cone available on the crossing control panel.

After crossing, turn right. After 4m turn right again and cross over Ferry Road

  • The path between the crossings arcs from right to left and has a slight gradient towards the road.
  • There is tactile paving on both sides of the crossing.
  • There are dropped kerbs on both sides of the crossing with an easy slope between the path and the road.
  • There is a tactile rotating cone available on the crossing control panel.

After crossing, turn left and continue along Ferry Road

  • The path at this section of the route is uneven.

After 50m, turn right onto Broom Road

  • The path at the crossing on the corner when turning onto Broom Road has a moderate gradient towards the road.
  • After the turn, continue along Broom Road.
  • The path at this section of the route is narrow in places and uneven.
  • There are a number of vehicle driveways that cause the path to have a moderate gradient towards the road in places.
  • Be wary of cars attempting to use the driveways when crossing.

After 180m, turn right into St Mary's Teddington Lock Campus car park

  • The St Mary's Teddington Lock Campus is located to the right.
