Access Guide
Route Information
- This route goes from Rousse Tower to Pembroke Bay.
- The majority of the route is on surfaced paths.
- The route will take approximately 1 hour to 1.5 hours.
- This route is not a loop so you may need to retrace the route to return to the car parking at Rousse Tower.
- There is parking available near Rouse Tower and Pembroke Bay, which can be used to park or for drop off and pickup points.
- There are several car parking points located along the route.
- Alternatively there are bus stops near Rousse Tower and Pembroke Bay.

Rousse Tower - La Route De L'Islet
- This section of the walk is approximately 1.1 km long.
- There is parking available at the end of the Headland near to Rousse Tower.
- There are no designated Blue Badge parking bays available.
- There is a loose chipping path leading up Rousse headland.
- Along the path there is a toilet block with standard toilet facilities.
- The route follows along the Rousse Headland road. There may be some traffic on the road, but the road is usually quiet and slow moving but caution is advised.
- There is a loose chipping path running parallel to the Route Du Picquerel and Le Grand Havre Bay.
- There are easy and moderate slopes along the path.
- The path follow Le Grand Havre Bay and rejoin with La Route De L'Islet.
- There is a hotel and restaurants located along this section of the route.

La Route De L'Islet - L'Ancresse Common
- This section of the walk is approximately 1 km long.
- There is parking available on the corner of La Route De L'Islet.
- The path continues running parallel to La Route De L'Islet and Le Grand Havre Bay.
- The path has a loose chipping surface.
- There are easy and moderate slopes along the path.
- There is another car park located on the corner where La Route De L'Islet meets L'Abbaye.
- There is also a kiosk serving hot and cold snacks within the car park.
- Opposite the car park and kiosk, there is the Vale Pond and Vale Church and Cemetery.
- After the car park the path bears left and runs alongside Le Grand Havre.
- The path has a loose chippings surface.
- There are easy and moderate slopes along the path.
- The path passes Les Amarreurs Harbour, before reaching L'Ancresse Common.
L'Ancresse Common - Ladies Bay
- This section of the walk is approximately 800m long.
- There is a car park located at the headland between Le Grand Havre and Ladies Bay.
- There is a kiosk serving hot and cold snacks within the car park.
- The path leads from the car park across L'Ancresse Common.
- The path begins with a tarmac surface before becoming loose chippings.
- There are easy and moderate slopes along the path.
- The path runs parallel to Ladies Bay.
- There is an 18 hole golf course on L'Ancresse Common. Please beware of stray golf balls.
- At the end of the path, it merges with Mont Cuet Road.
- The path on Mont Cuet Road is tarmac.
- There is car parking available just off Mont Cuet Road.
- There is an accessible toilet and standard toilets next to the kiosk.
- There is a restaurant and kiosk located next to the car parking.

Ladies Bay - Pembroke Bay
- This section of the walk is approximately 580m long.
- There is a car park available at Ladies Bay.
- There are public toilet facilities available at Ladies Bay, next to the kiosk.
- There is restaurant and kiosk serving hot and cold snacks next to the car park.
- After leaving the car park the route continues by crossing Mont Cuet Road.
- There is no designated crossing point so caution when crossing is advised.
- After crossing the road, there is a tarmac path leading past some residential buildings.
- The path leads to L'ancresse Common.
- The surface of the path across the common varies between grass, loose chippings, light sand and is uneven in places.
- There are easy and moderate slopes along the path.
- The path passes near to the Millennium Stone and La Varde Passage Tomb.
- The path of the common passes through the 1st tee of the golf course.
- Visitors are asked to wait for golfers to hit their tee shots before carrying on.
- There is a tarmac path leading past the 1st tee and leads back to another path through the common.
- The path's are similar to the other paths within the common.
- The path leads to Pembroke bay.
- To get to Pembroke Bay, visitors must cross La Jaonneause Road.
- There is no designated crossing point so caution when crossing is advised.
- There is a car park located next to Pembroke Bay.
- There is a Restaurant and Public toilets at the opposite end of Pembroke Bay.
