Access to Beach (Slipway)

  • The slipway is accessed along the Promenade, heading southwards and then onto Route de la Rocque du Poisson
  • There is no path on Route de la Rocque du Poisson and there is oncoming traffic.
  • Route de la Rocque du Poisson can be extremely busy with traffic at times.

  • The slipway is concrete but has cobbles in the centre.

  • Approximately 5m down the slipway, it splits, take the right fork for L'Eree Beach.

  • There are exposed areas of the ramp in places creating a risk of falling onto the rocks or Beach.

L'Eree Beach

  • L'Eree Beach consists of sand.
  • The Beach has a steep slope, from the promenade to the sea.
  • Even at low tide the sand is wet/damp and firm in most places.
  • Wheelchair users and people using walking aids will have a risk of the wheelchair/walking aid sinking into the sand.
  • The Beach is obstructed by drifted seaweed, rocks and pebbles.
  • There are some small, shallow, (approximately 1cm deep), fresh water streams running along the Beach which may be difficult to navigate.

L'Eree Beach Promenade

  • The Promenade is accessed from both the North and South Car Parks.
  • The Promenade surface is concrete.
  • The Promenade is over 150cm wide in all areas.
  • In places there is an easy slope from right to left, sloping from the Car Parks to the Beach.
  • There is a lip just before the end of the Promenade closest to the Beach.
  • There is no wall or handrail between the Promenade and Beach.
  • With the slope and the lip there is a trip hazard, with a direct drop to the Beach, approximately 3m below.
  • There are uneven surfaces where the concrete slabs join.
  • There are areas where the weeds have grown, they may create trip hazards.
  • In some areas the sand has washed onto the Promenade, creating uneven surfaces.
  • There is limited bench seating and picnic benches on the grass areas in front of the Promenade.
