Guernsey Beach Wheelchairs

• Guernsey Beach Wheelchairs is a charity scheme run by Wooden Spoon, the children's charity of Rugby and is promoted by the Guernsey Wooden Spoon.
• Guernsey Beach Wheelchairs is a scheme for any person who would find it difficult to walk on the beach.
• Guernsey Beach Wheelchairs is located to the left of the Pembroke beach slipway.
• To use the service you will need to book in advance either by email [email protected] or on the websitehttps://www.gsybeachwheelchairs.com/ giving at least 24 hours notice.
• The service is available all year round.
• The service is free of charge but donations are encouraged.
• There are 3 specially adapted wheelchairs.

• The sand is firm and damp, even at low tide.
• There is a risk of a wheelchair user, or someone using mobility aids, having their wheelchair or mobility aid sink into the sand.

• There is a channel in the sand, created by the flow of a drainage pipe, just in front of the slipway that causes an uneven surface (approximately 3cm deep).
