Swansea Train Station to High Street Pedestrian Crossing

  • Upon exiting the station, turn right and continue ahead along High Street for approximately 30m towards the High Street pedestrian crossing.
  • There is step-free access throughout this part of the route.
  • The path along this section of the route consists of paving slabs.
  • The path has a slight uphill gradient and is uneven in places due to lowered/raised drain covers and concrete paving blocks.
  • The pedestrian crossing has dropped kerbs with tactile paving on both sides.
  • The pedestrian crossing has a rotating cone at the base of the signal box to indicate when it is safe for a visually impaired person to cross.
  • Traffic is coming from both directions.

High Street Pedestrian Crossing to High Street Bus Stop

  • After completing the crossing, turn right and follow the path along the High Street for approximately 25m until you reach the bus stop.
  • There is step-free access along the route.
  • The surface of the floor is concrete tiles.
  • The bus stop is sheltered.
  • There is no seating located at the bus stop.
  • There is digital signage available.
  • The number 4 bus/Crymu Clipper bus goes to the Swansea.com Stadium bus stop.
  • When the route was surveyed on the 11/08/2021 there was scaffolding on the path for building works taking place. If the scaffolding is still in place there is an alternative route on the opposite side of High Street which goes past the taxi ranks, with a similar pedestrian crossing.

Swansea.com Stadium Bus Stop (from the City Centre)

  • The Swansea.com Stadium Bus Stop for buses coming from the City Centre is located on Neath Road.
  • There is step-free access to the bus shelter.
  • There is fixed seating within the bus shelter.
  • The seating does not have armrests.
  • After exiting the bus turn right and follow Neath Road for approximately 40m until you reach the crossing point.
  • The crossing point has dropped kerbs on both sides with tactile paving.
  • The traffic at the crossing points is coming from both directions.
  • The crossing point does not have visual signals.
  • After crossing the road proceed ahead to the path in front of you.
  • The surface of the path is tarmac.
  • There is step-free access along this section of the route.

Neath Road to A4067 Pedestrian Crossing Point

  • From Neath Road follow the path leading to the A4607 for approximately 14m until you reach the pedestrian crossing.
  • The path has a tarmac surface.
  • The path has a very slight gradient.
  • There are two crossing points with dropped kerbs and tactile paving.
  • The crossing points are controlled by visual indicators.
  • The visual indicators are activated by push buttons.
  • There are rotating cones located at the base of the push button boxes to indicate when it is safe to cross.
  • Caution is advised when crossing because of traffic.
  • At the first crossing point the traffic is coming from the right.
  • After the first crossing there is a pedestrian refuge island.
  • At the second crossing point the traffic is coming from the left.
  • After completing crossing point turn right and follow the path.

A4067 Pedestrian Crossing Point to the Outer Concourse

  • After the crossing point turn right and follow the path for approximately 15m, bearing left.
  • After bearing left, follow the path for 60m towards the outer concourse of the stadium.
  • The path has a slight gradient.
  • There are bollards on the path, the bollards contrast visually with the paving.
  • There is a dropped kerb leading from the path to the outer concourse.
  • The dropped kerb has tactile paving on both sides.

Outer Concourse

  • The outer concourse has a concrete surface and is step-free throughout. All stands are accessible via the outer concourse.
  • On matchdays there are independent food stalls and mobile counters selling match day programmes located around the concourse. The Jacks Fan Zone is located on the concourse at the corner of the South Stand- Family Stand.
  • All entrances into the stadium have step-free access.
  • There are Braille and tactile maps of the stadium located on all corners of the concourse. There are bollards located across the walkway as it passes in front of the main reception entrance.
  • Clear directional signage is provided on the concourse.
  • There is a stadium plan/map on the concourse.
  • There is a steward/member of staff available for assistance on matchdays.
