Introduction

  • Please note that the trams can only accept cash payments.
  • Heritage Trams offer a range of experiences including The Blackpool Tram Driving Experience, The Ghost Train and Afternoon Tea.
  • Trams are also available for hire.

Opening Times

Tram Stops

  • The Heritage Trams pick up at special stops and they are clearly signed.
  • The tram stops include Pleasure Beach, Tower North Pier, Cabin, Bispham, Cleveleys and Fleetwood.
  • The stops are close to the standard tram stops.
  • Photographs 1,2 and 3 show the tram stop at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
  • Photographs 1 and 2 show the northbound and southbound stops at North Pier Tower.

Accessible Tram

  • The Illuminated Tram is suitable for wheelchair users.
  • The ramp is lowered at the tram stop by the driver or conductor.
  • The ramp gradient is slight, it is 81cm wide and 162cm long.
  • There are handrails on both sides of the ramp.
  • The tram can only take one wheelchair user and their carer at a time.
  • The maximum weight allowed on the ramp is 300kg.
  • Access to the standard carriages is via 2-3 clearly marked deep steps with handrails to the left (photographs 5 and 6).
  • The tram runs every night during the illuminations.
  • It is advised to check with the operators as sometimes there can be unforeseen circumstances.
  • The tram also operates on special occasions throughout the year which are advertised locally and on the website.

Standard Trams

  • The trams range from single to double decker.
  • There are also open top trams.
  • The doors on the trams vary from 55cm to 66cm wide.
  • Each of the trams is alighted via 1-3 steps.
  • Some of these steps are 40cm high.
  • There are handrails to the left, right or centre.
  • The width of the aisles on the trams vary from 30cm to 40cm.
  • Each of the double decker trams have deep steps with handrails on both sides to reach the top deck.
