Getting In and Around

- There is step-free access via slope at the most accessible entrance.
- There is step-free level access throughout the majority of areas, this may include the use of a lift.
- The following areas have step-free access via ramps or slopes: a steep ramp along the link corridor between the main hospital building and the Emerson Unit, a slight ramp to access the Larch Ward in Area 5 of the main hospital, and a steep ramp to access Elder, Sycamore, Ash, Willow Birch, Holly, Chestnut Wards, Occupational Health and Clinical Health Psychology in Area 5 of the main hospital.
- Access throughout may include doors permanently held open, automatic doors and narrow walkways.
- The lower ground, ground and first floor can be accessed via a standard lift and stairs.

Getting Help and Assistance

- There is seating available.
- There is no hearing assistance system.
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: a manual wheelchair and walking aids.
- British Sign Language can be provided virtually.
- Documents are available in the following formats: Braille (on request), large print (on request) and different languages (on request).
- There is a water bowl available for assistance dogs.
- There is a designated assistance dog spending area.
- Additional facilities/services include: an ATM machine, Wi-Fi and TV pre-pay machines for patients.
Getting Around (The Queen Elizabeth Hospital)
- There is step-free level access throughout the majority of areas, this may include the use of a lift.
- The following areas have step-free access via ramps or slopes: a steep ramp along the link corridor between the main hospital building and the Emerson Unit, a slight ramp to access the Larch Ward in Area 5 of the main hospital, and a steep ramp to access Elder, Sycamore, Ash, Willow Birch, Holly, Chestnut Wards, Occupational Health and Clinical Health Psychology in Area 5 of the main hospital.
