Accessible Short Stay Car Park and Drop Off
- The Accessible Short Stay Car Park and Drop Off are located at the front of the main car park.
- They are accessed by entering the main car park entrance and proceeding into the main car park.
- Turn right onto the first aisle of the main car park and turn right again as if exiting the car park.
- A small number of Blue Badge bays are located on the left.
- The majority of the parking bays, and the drop off point, are accessed using the first aisle on the right.
- Drop off and pick up is limited to 10 minutes waiting time.
- The drop off bays are clearly marked.

- The car park is located at the front of the hospital, just across from the Main Entrance.
- The car park is open air/surface.
- The car park surface consists of tarmac.
- There are 39 designated Blue Badge parking bays available.
- The Blue Badge bays are clearly marked.
- The surveyed Blue Badge parking bay dimensions are 236cm (width) x 467cm (depth).
- The dimensions of the designated Blue Badge parking bays vary in size.
- The hatched/marked zones vary between bays.
- The nearest designated bay is 55m from the Main Entrance.
- The most accessible route from the Blue Badge parking has steep slopes.
- This route has uneven surfaces and bollards.
- There is a dropped kerb with tactile paving from the designated Blue Badge parking.

Charges and Restrictions

- This car park is for Blue Badge holders only.
- Parking is free for Blue Badge holders but not all users.
- Blue Badge holders can enter their Blue Badge serial number at a payment machine to receive free parking.
- Payment machines are located at the side of the car park and inside the main building.
- There is not a payment machine with controls at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- Payment can also be made online or using an app.

- There is a designated drop-off point available.
- The designated drop-off point is located at the front of the car park.
- There is a dropped kerb with tactile paving from the drop-off point.
Accessible Short Stay Car Park to Main Crossing Point
- From the Blue Badge bays head towards the main car park exit route, which is used to gain access to the parking bays.
- There are clearly marked crossing points creating a walkway along the bottom edge of the accessible short stay car park.
- There is a steep slope leading from the top of the car park to the walkway (shown in photograph 2).
- The crossing points are marked in black and white.
- The surface of the walkway is tarmac.
- There is a raised footpath between the entrance and exit access roads of the accessible short stay car park.
- There are dropped kerbs with tactile paving on both sides of the raised footpath.
- There are bollards just beyond the last dropped kerb with a minimum width of 293cm.
- The marked walkways are over 150cm wide.
- After crossing the vehicle exit route there is a yellow barrier on the right which provides a handrail.
- Continue along the walkway following the barrier.
- Bear right as the barrier bears right, and the walkway widens out.
- There is a dropped kerb with tactile paving at the end of the walkway leading onto the footpath.
- Proceed across the tactile paving and continue straight ahead onto a block paved area.
- Continue towards the hospital building and the main crossing point.
- There is a slight downhill slope leading to the main crossing point (shown in photograph 16).
Drop Off Point to Main Crossing Point
- From the Drop Off Point head towards the hospital building.
- There is a dropped kerb with tactile paving leading from the Drop Off Point to the pavement.
- There is a slight downhill slope along the footpath (shown in photograph 2).
- There is also a camber from right to left along this section of the footpath, created by the dropped kerb.
- Continue along the footpath towards the end of the tactile paved area.
- Turn right onto a block paved area and continue towards the hospital building and the main crossing point.
- There is a slight downhill slope leading to the main crossing point (shown in photograph 6).
Main Crossing Point
- The main crossing point has dropped kerbs with tactile paving on both sides.
- There are bollards on the footpath side of the tactile paving on both sides.
- The bollards do not contrast visually with the paving, but they do have a visual identification band at the top.
- The minimum width between the bollards on both sides is 155cm.
- The crossing is marked in black and white.
- Some of the white markings are faded.
- The surface of the crossing is tarmac.
- The road is busy with traffic travelling in both directions.
- There is a very slight slope from right to left on the crossing point.
Main Crossing Point to Main Hospital Entrance
- The surface of the pavement leading to the main hospital entrance is block paved.
- There is a slight uphill slope (shown in photograph 2).
- The gradient slightly increases downhill just before the entrance (shown in photograph 3).

Entrance (Main Entrance)
- This entrance is located at the front of the hospital.
- The approach to the entrance has uneven surfaces.
- The entrance area is not clearly signed.
- There is not a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at the entrance.
- There is step-free access via a slope at the entrance.
- The slope has a slight gradient.
- There are double automatic doors.
- The doors are permanently held open.
- The width of the opening is 153cm.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the opening.
- The doors have a medium colour contrast.
- There is a second set of double automatic doors.
- The doors open by sliding.
- The width of the opening is 158cm.
- The doors have a high colour contrast.
