About The Supreme Court

The UK Supreme Court is working in partnership with AccessAble, to produce a detailed Access Guide. The information in the guide aims to assist potential visitors with disabilities to plan their visit to the UKSC in advance. The UKSC aims to be accessible to all visitors.

The UKSC is the highest appeals court in the UK and is independent from government. It makes final decisions on how the law should be interpreted. The cases that it hears affect people’s everyday lives. It is also the home of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council, which is the highest court of appeal for many Commonwealth countries, as well as the UK’s overseas territories and crown dependencies.

We are situated in Parliament Square, come and see our courtrooms and watch a hearing. Learn more about the role and work of the Court in our exhibition space and have a break in the café.
