Access Guide
Getting to the Room (2201)
- The average walking time to the room is 3 minutes.
- Take a left past the reception desk and cross the lobby to the rear of the reception area.
Pass the seating area and proceed straight ahead to the steep ramp. At the top of the ramp turn right into the corridor towards the rooms.
Turn left at the end, then the door to room number 2201 is the first door on the left. - The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access, a steep ramp/slope and an open entrance with no doors.
- The majority of the walkways on route to the room are between 120cm and 180cm.
- Some flooring on the route is shiny and patterned.
- There are buggies available for all guests, which are used to overcome the ramp/slope.
- The buggies can be transferred into from a wheelchair.
Room (2201)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 2 rooms of this type in the resort.
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens outwards and has a high colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 85cm wide.
- The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
- The top of the mattress is 60cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 20cm high.
- Furniture can be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed.
- The room does not have an emergency alarm.
- There is hard flooring.
- The width of the balcony door is 137cm.
Ensuite (2201)
- The ensuite door opens away from you and has an opening width of 90cm.
- There is not room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
- There is hard flooring.
- The facilities in the ensuite include: a toilet, a wash basin and a shower cubicle.
- There is a lateral transfer space on the right hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 80cm.
- Fixtures within the ensuite include: a toilet roll holder.
- There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side, a horizontal grab rail at the shower and vertical grab rails at the shower.
- There is not a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
- There is a flip-down seat in the shower.
