Access Guide
Resort Information
- Globales Santa Lucia is located in Palma Nova, Majorca.
- This resort has the following facilities: rooms with some adaptations for disabled people, a toilet with some adaptations for disabled people, a spa, beach access, a swimming pool and a sauna. There may be additional charges for some of these facilities, for more information please contact TUI or the resort.
- The resort has 332 rooms available. 7 of these rooms have adaptations for disabled people
- Standard rooms with adjoining rooms are available.
- The resort is located on level ground with the majority of the areas having step-free level access.
The only areas that do not have step-free level access are the beach, the sun deck and the premium guest pool and bar area on the eighth floor. - There are 2 restaurants.
- There are 3 swimming pools (excluding room pools).
- Toilet and changing facilities available include: a toilet designated as gender neutral, step-free standard toilets and toilets with some adaptations for disabled people.
- Toilet facilities with some adaptations for disabled people can be found on the ground floor in the main resort building, to the right of the reception desk.
- Standard toilet facilities can be found on the ground floor in the main resort building, to the right of the reception desk and in the indoor pool area.
- There is a medication fridge available on request.
- Guests can hire mobility equipment from the resort.
- Guests can use their own mobility scooter at the resort.
- Mobility scooters can be stored outside on the path at the front of the resort.
- We have been told that assistance dogs are not allowed in the resort.
- This resort is not aware of the Sunflower Lanyard Scheme.
- There is not a Safe/Quiet Place available in the resort.
- WiFi is available throughout the resort.
Entrance
- The entrance to the resort is located at the front of the building.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance to the resort.
- There are automatic doors at the entrance, which open by sliding.

- There is a second set of automatic doors at the entrance, which are permanently open.

Reception
- There is step-free level access to reception.

Counter (TUI Help Desk)

- The counter has patterned backgrounds which may affect the ability of someone to lip read.

Getting Around the Building
- This building contains bars, a main reception, an indoor pool and restaurants.
- The building has multiple floors which can be accessed via stairs and lift.
- The following areas have step-free level access: all room corridors, the bars, the buffet restaurant, the indoor and outdoor pools.
- The following areas have step-free access via steep or very steep ramps or slopes: the buffet restaurant outdoor seating area, the entrance to the premium sun deck, the ramp/slope leading to the beach from the resort entrance.
- The following areas do not have step-free access: the sun deck next to the outdoor pool, the beach, the massage rooms, the infinity swimming pool on the eighth floor in the premium sun deck area.
- There is hard flooring.
- Some flooring is shiny.
- The majority of walkway widths are between 120cm and 180cm, with high colour contrast between the walls and floor.
- Lighting levels are low in some areas.
Getting Around the Resort
- The resort is located on level ground with the majority of the areas having step-free level access.
The only areas that do not have level access are the beach, the sun deck and the premium guest pool and bar area on the eighth floor. - The paths around the resort are made from: block paving, tarmac and tiles.
- There are bench seats along the pathways.
- All the paths are illuminated.
Lift
- The lift is located to the left of the entrance foyer.
- The floors that can be accessed from this lift are 0-8.
- This lift is a standard lift.
- Externally the lift has: a door with a high colour contrast to the surroundings, tactile markings, buttons with a high colour contrast to the surroundings and controls at a recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm).
- The lift does have a recommended turning space (150cm x 150cm) in front of it.
- The lift door opening width is 90cm.
- The dimensions of the lift are 110cm x 145cm.
- There are other lifts which are similar in size at the same location.
- Internally the lift has; tactile markings, an audible announcer, controls at a recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm), Braille markings, a visual floor indicator, buttons with a high colour contrast to the surroundings and a mirror to aid reversing.
Stairs
- The floors which are accessible by stairs are 0-8.
- There are 15+ steps between floors with resting points (landings).
- The stairs are not clearly marked and have a handrail on the right going up.
Toilet with Adaptations for Disabled People (Left Hand Transfer)
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- There is pictorial signage on or near the toilet door.
- The toilet door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 78cm.
- The toilet door has a sliding bolt lock.
- The dimensions of the cubicle are 189cm x 256cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.
- There is a lateral transfer space to the left of the toilet as you look at it, but it is obstructed.
- The lateral transfer space is 119cm (from the side of the toilet pan to the wall).
- There is a push button flush on top of the cistern.
- The following grab rails are available: a horizontal grab rail on the non-transfer side.
- There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
- The following fixtures can be reached from the toilet seat: the toilet roll holder.
- The following fixtures cannot be reached from the toilet seat: the wash basin, the soap dispenser and towel dispenser.
- The following fixtures are at the recommended height: the soap dispenser (between 80cm - 100cm).
- The following fixtures are not at the recommended height: towel dispenser (not between 80cm - 100cm), the toilet seat (not at 48cm), the wash basin (not between 72cm - 74cm) and the toilet roll holder (not between 80cm - 100cm).
- The wash basin tap type is lever mixer.
- The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: the floor, the dropdown rail and the internal toilet door.
- The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the toilet seat and the grab rail.
