Access Guide
Getting to the Room (Block 7, Room 7001)
- The average walking time to the room is 2 minutes.
- Exit the lobby at the rear of the main building. continue ahead and to the right, taking the ramp down to the lower level of the resort. At the bottom of the ramp, take a right turn and continue ahead into Block 7. Upon entering Block 7, take a left turn to access the corridor. Room 7001 is the first room to the left.
- The most accessible route to the room has a steep ramp/slope.
- The majority of walkway widths on the route to the room are over 180cm.
- The flooring on the route is not shiny or patterned.
- There are buggies available for all guests, which are used to overcome the ramp/slope.
- The buggies cannot be transferred into from a wheelchair.
Room (7001)
- This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 2 rooms of this type in the resort.
- All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the room.
- The room door is manual, opens outwards and has a high colour contrast.
- The room door opening is 86cm wide.
- The bed type is double.
- The top of the mattress is 67cm from the floor.
- The space under the bed is 9cm high.
- Furniture cannot be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed.
- There is hard flooring.
- The flooring is not shiny or patterned.
- Seating in the room includes: a chair with armrests and a chair without armrests.
- The following adaptations are available: adapted wardrobes for seated users, light switches at a recommended height (between 75cm - 120cm), plug sockets at a recommended height (between 40cm - 100cm), bedside plug sockets and a lowered spyhole.
- The following adaptations are not available: a desk at a recommended height (between 72cm - 76cm), adapted wardrobes for seated users and window controls at a recommended height (between 80cm - 100cm).
- The room has a fridge. This can be used to store medication.
- The room does not have an emergency alarm.
- The room does not have a flashing fire alarm.
- The room does not have a ceiling track hoist.

- There is no lateral transfer space next to the toilet, as there is not enough space.

- The flooring is not shiny or patterned.
- The toilet seat is 43cm from the floor.
- There is a dropdown rail on the left.
- Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side and a horizontal grab rail at the shower.
- Fixtures that are in reach from the toilet include: the toilet roll holder.
- Fixtures that are out of reach from the toilet include: the wash basin and the soap dispenser.
- The taps are lever mixer.
- The ensuite does not have an emergency alarm.
