Access Guide
Resort Information
- The Royalton Splash Punta Cana is located close to Bavaro Beach on the east coast of the Dominican Republic.
- The resort is spread across several building, but is mostly level with some slight slopes along the paths and some steep slopes leading into some of the activity areas.
- This resort has the following facilities: rooms with some adaptations for disabled people, beach access, swimming pools, a water park and restaurants.
- The resort has 525 rooms available. 4 of these rooms have adaptations for disabled people.
- There are 7 restaurants.
- There are 4 swimming pools (excluding room pools).
- Toilet and changing facilities available include: toilets with some adaptations for disabled people.
- Toilet facilities with some adaptations for disabled people can be found near the Under the Sea Restaurant, the Coffee Bean café and around the pool area.
- Standard toilet facilities can be found near the Under the Sea Restaurant, the Coffee Bean café and around the pool area.
- There is a medication fridge available on request.
- Guests cannot hire mobility equipment from the resort.
- Guests can hire mobility equipment locally.
- The resort has a list of local suppliers.
- Guests can use their own mobility scooter at the resort.
- Guests can store and charge mobility scooters in their rooms.
- We have been told that assistance dogs are not allowed in the resort.

- The Royalton Splash Punta Cana shares the spa, gym and shops with it's sister resort, the Royalton Punta Cana. There is a trolley bus that runs frequently between these resorts.
Access to the beach is through the Royalton Punta Cana resort.
Entrance
- The entrance to the resort is located at the front of the reception building.
- There is step-free access via ramp at the entrance to the resort.
- The ramp is steep, between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- The width of the door opening is 350cm.
Reception
- There is step-free level access to reception.
- The reception desk is too high for a wheelchair user.
- The reception does not have a hearing assistance system.
- There is hard flooring.
Getting Around the Building
- This building contains a main reception.
- All areas of the Royalton Splash Punta Cana building have step-free level access.
- There are several ramps to access the interior of the Royalton Punta Cana main building, including a ramp to the beauty salon and a ramp leading to the pool area.
- There is a trolley-bus that runs between the Royalton Splash Punta Cana and the Royalton Punta Cana sister hotels.
The trolley-bus starts at the reception building in the Royalton Splash Punta Cana and runs along the internal road to the main building at the Royalton Punta Cana.
Toilet with Adaptations for Disabled People (Selections Restaurant - No Lateral transfer space)
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- There is pictorial signage on or near the toilet door.
- The toilet door is manual, opens outwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The toilet door has a twist lock.
- There is a lateral transfer space to the left of the toilet as you look at it, but it is obstructed.
- There is a push button flush on top of the cistern.
- There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
- Grab rails in the toilet include: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side.
- Fixtures within the toilet include: a toilet roll holder, a hand dryer and a soap dispenser.
- The toilet has a mirror.
- There is no shelf in the toilet.
- The cubicle has a pedal bin.
- There are no coat hooks.
