Access Guide
Resort Information
- The resort is located on the east coast of Mexico in the town of Cancun.
- This large resort consists of 8 buildings and 9 levels. The main reception building is building number 5 and the resort is mostly accessible via step-free level pathways, lifts and slight ramps.
- This resort has the following facilities: rooms with some adaptations for disabled people, beach access, swimming pools, a splash park and restaurants.
- The resort has 1005 rooms available. 7 of these rooms have adaptations for disabled people.
- Rooms with some adaptations for disabled people, with adjoining rooms, are available.
- There are more than 10 restaurants.
- There are more than 10 swimming pools (excluding room pools).
- Toilet and changing facilities available include: toilets with some adaptations for disabled people and step-free standard toilets.
- Toilet facilities with some adaptations for disabled people can be found on the 3rd level in the reception area, on the 1st level near the pool and restaurant, near the beach and on the 6th floor near the gym and spa.
- Standard toilet facilities can be found on the 3rd level in the reception area, on the 1st level near the pool and restaurant, near the beach and on the 6th floor near the gym and spa.
- Baby change facilities can be found within the male and female toilets on the 3rd level in the reception area, on the 1st level near the pool and restaurant, near the beach and on the 6th floor near the gym and spa.
- There is no medication fridge.
- Guests can hire mobility equipment from the resort.
- Guests can use their own mobility scooter at the resort.
- Guests can store and charge their mobility scooters in an area near to reception and in their rooms.
- We have been told that assistance dogs are allowed in most areas of the resort.
- Guests can bring food for assistance dogs which can be stored in their rooms.
- This resort is not aware of the Sunflower Lanyard Scheme.
- There is not a Safe/Quiet Place available in the resort, but a room could be made available if needed.
- WiFi is available throughout the resort.

- The following areas have step-free access via lift: There is step-free access via lift to the rooms with adaptations for disabled people, standard rooms, gym, spa, indoor pool and also to level 1 to access the main pool, entertainment, restaurant, beach and activities. The lift accesses 9 floors.
- The following areas have step-free access via slight ramps or slopes: There is a slight ramp to access the terrace for the entertainment area, pool area, beach and activities.
There is also a slight ramp to access the splash park and a further slight ramp to access the beach.
Entrance
- The entrance to the resort is located at the front of the main building (building number 5).
- There is step-free level access at the entrance to the resort.
- There is an opening without doors at the entrance, which is permanently open.
- The entrance to the resort is a wide, open doorway which is over 10m wide. The rear exit from the reception area is also a wide, open doorway which is over 10m wide.
Reception
- There is step-free level access to reception.
- The reception desk is too high for a wheelchair user.
- The reception does not have a hearing assistance system.
- There is hard flooring.
- The height of the reception desk is 120cm.
Getting Around the Building
- This building contains a main reception, shops, bars, restaurants, an indoor pool and a gym.
- The building has multiple floors which can be accessed via stairs and lift.
- From reception there is step-free level access to the toilets with adaptations for disabled people, standard toilets, baby change facilities and restaurant.
There is step-free access via lift to the rooms with adaptations for disabled people, standard rooms, gym, spa, indoor pool and also to level 1 to access the main pool, entertainment, restaurant and activities. The lift accesses 9 floors. - There is a slight ramp to access the terrace for the entertainment area, pool area, beach and activities.
There is also a slight ramp to access the splash park and a further slight ramp to access the beach. - The floors that can be accessed from the lift are 1 to 9.
- The lift door opening width is 110cm.
- The dimensions of the lift are 163cm x 200cm.
Toilet with Adaptations for Disabled People (Right Hand Transfer)
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- There is pictorial signage on or near the toilet door.
- The toilet door is manual, opens outwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 104cm.
- The toilet door has a twist lock.
- The dimensions of the cubicle are 330cm x 159cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.
- There is a lateral transfer space to the right of the toilet as you look at it.
- The lateral transfer space is 100cm (from the side of the toilet pan to the wall).
- There is a push button flush in the centre of the cistern.
- There is no dropdown rail.
- Grab rails in the toilet include: a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side.
- Fixtures within the toilet include: a toilet roll holder, a wash basin, a hand dryer and a soap dispenser.
- The toilet has a mirror.
- There is no shelf in the toilet.
- The cubicle has a pedal bin.
- There are no coat hooks.
- There is a baby change facility which is not at a recommended height (75cm).
- The height of the baby changing table is 86cm.
There is a horizontal handrail above the toilet cistern.
Toilet
- The male standard toilet was surveyed.
- There is also a female toilet in the same location.
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- The toilet door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the door to the toilets is 95cm. The width of the cubicle doors is 66cm.
