Getting to the Room (1001)

  • The average walking time to the room is 4 minutes.
  • Exit the reception lobby via the main entrance doors, go down the ramp and turn right.
  • Head into the lobby bar, which is in the building on the right.
  • Continue through the lobby bar and turn right into the room corridor and continue ahead to room 1001.
  • The most accessible route to the room has automatic doors.
  • The majority of walkway widths on the route to the room are under 120cm.
  • Some flooring on the route is shiny.

Room (1001)

  • There is step-free level access into the room.
  • The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast.
  • The room door opening is 79cm wide.
  • The bed type is made from two single beds pushed together.
  • The top of the mattress is 56cm from the floor.
  • The space under the bed is 6cm high.
  • There is room for a wheelchair user to turn next to the bed (150cm x 150cm) .
  • There is hard flooring.
  • The flooring is shiny and patterned.
  • Seating in the room includes: a chair without armrests.
  • The following adaptations are available: light switches at a recommended height (between 75cm - 120cm) and plug sockets at a recommended height (between 40cm - 100cm).
  • The room does not have an emergency alarm.
  • The room does not have a flashing fire alarm.
  • The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal room door and the room floor.
  • The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the ensuite door.
  • Balcony / Terrace View
    • There is a balcony. The door is under 75cm wide .
    • The balcony has: a patio table and chairs with armrests.

Ensuite (1001 - Left Hand Transfer)

  • The ensuite door opens towards you and has an opening width of 85cm.
  • There is room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is a lateral transfer space on the left hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 170cm .
  • There is hard flooring.
  • The toilet seat is 45cm from the floor.
  • There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
  • Fixtures that are in reach from the toilet include: the toilet roll holder.
  • Fixtures that are out of reach from the toilet include: the wash basin and the soap dispenser.
  • The taps are lever mixer.
  • The ensuite does not have an emergency alarm.
  • The ensuite does not have a flashing fire alarm.
  • The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal door, the dropdown rail, the floor and the toilet seat.
  • The ensuite has: a shower with a step.
  • There is an adjustable, detachable shower head at a recommended height (between 105cm - 185cm).
  • There is no shower seat.
